  • Listening to: Furries In a Blender
  • Drinking: Water, because I'm daring
So, the other day I was lurking a DA "appreciation" forum, because, let's face it, terrible MS Paint Animuz is fucking hilarious. Anyways, everyone was just poking fun at sparkly-eyed monstrosities, all was good, until suddenly, someone found Darthglacier's art for whatever reason. Everyone was revolted at her fangirl-ey pictures of her and Cell, going on about how "sick and twisted" it was liking a guy in bug-like armor. And you know, that's not the only time I seen things like that happen. I remember seeing Zim fangirls get loads of hate before Invader Zim became super popular and it was typical, and there's Jet fangirls that get bashed because "he's not as sexy as Spike" (Cowboy Bebop). I guess you can call me butthurt about this, I am, after all,  a "weird" fangirl myself. But seriously, there's only so much bullshit I can take before flipping my shit and bitching about it.

So, people who are bothered by some stranger's interest, I have just one thing I gotta tell you. You ready?

WHO THE HELL CARES?

Seriously, why should anybody give a shit about what someone's favorite character is?! Why? Why should you waste valuable seconds of your time complaining about what some girl on the internet likes? I could understand being revolted by someone jerking off to a little girl giving a man a blowjob, or some guy who's raping his German Shepard, but a Cell fangirl? Please.

Really, the only fangirls that don't get bashed are the ones that like typical bland bishies or other "sexy" characters. Fangirls of characters like Death the Kidd, L, Vegeta, Sebastian, or Edward are left alone, although they do occasionally face stereotypes of being stupid or irrational fangirls for liking such superficial characters. And you know, that's the key word there: Superficial. I'm sorry guys, but not everyone is into wangsty, sparkly-eyed toothpicks. Beauty is incredibly subjective, one person's "hot" is another person's "Ugh she's too fucking skinny". So saying a fangirl shouldn't like a character because he's ugly is pointless. There's obviously reasons why she would like him. Maybe it's his personality or behaviors (I know it's a stereotype but there is such a thing as attractive personalities), or maybe it's his attributes or attire. (I know lots of Alucard fangirls that love his badass longcoat) Or maybe, you know, she thinks he's honestly sexy, even if you don't. There's plenty of reasons why people like certain characters, and it's not fair to judge other people's opinions because they're different than yours.

And even then, if you're still not convinced, the idea of fangirling or finding a character in the least bit sexy is still considered weird to the "normal" people. Whether it's Faye Valentine, Vegeta, or Captian Ginyu, it's still Toonophillia. So why are we suddenly picking and choosing what imaginary character is ok to like? It's ok to like this made-up character, but not this one? I'm sorry, what?

Bottom line is that nobody should give two shits about someone's hobby. Maybe if it's affecting someone's life, it would be understandable, but what somebody likes is nobodies business but theirs. Really, if it bothers you that much, then don't hang around them. It's not like they're flooding the internet with it (Which can't be said for the "sexy" character fangirls...).

So, sorry for being a whiny butthurt baby about this, but it's been bothering me for a while. Carry on with your lives.

I don't understand why people have to hate on what other people like. (You'd think they would have something better to do...) Everyone is different, and thus has different interests, tastes, likes ECT. So If I like something "Weird", Why should they give 2 fucks about it! (And I'm into some pretty weird shit XD ) People confuse me... @_@

what I especially love is how moronic the haters are. The best part is that most of them are like that because they have something to hide, so they make others feel bad in their place. For every person criticizing a cell fangirl, there are several hidden folders in his computer

I have a thing I like to say to this.

"Don't be a hater, be a creator."

Long version:

Haters can SHUT THE FUCK UP because I honestly don't give a shit, and that's all they can ever do. Hate. Because they don't feel ballsy enough to be open about themselves and create a decent work, not of art, but of pride and honesty, of being able to say with your head held high "This is who I am and if you don't like it I have two friends that can tell you what you can go do."

To be honest I feel you have a right to gripe. Not only should you be allowed to point out and denounce things that just are not right with people, but no one will acknowledge these things unless someone decides to grow a pair and SAY something.
-
Anyway, good for you for taking a stand about this. I will admit that I myself happen to like some things that people would probably bitch at me about, but no matter what, when you take sides someone is going to be pissed off in some way or another.
That's the way it is. Sadly.

I agree, senseless hate is stupid. They mainly just jump on a bandwagon and mindlessly agree with everyone else's opinions, without bothering to think over whether or not the hate is justified. It's all petty shit like squabbling fandoms, I mean, I complain about it for fun, but I don't see the point in sending people death threats over dumb shit like fangirls or Furries....

On top of that, it isn't even jumping on the bandwagon half the time. It's doing it because, since they disagree with you, you must OBVIOUSLY be wrong and therefore need to be ridiculed the shit out of.

Plus it makes people feel important. If I need to ridicule someone, which I refuse to do except under difficult circumstances or if they cross the line, I will make sure it's over something meaningful, like senseless fighting or the like.

Don't do shit unless it's necessary.

I'm going to borrow a bit from the Inheritance series, though it won't be word for word.

"The problems of today are caused by far to many people concerned with 'doing what's right' instead of using logic."

Granted I do not completely agree with the statement myself, but I do see relevance and more importantly CAN why.

What do you think?
